'Seussical' the musicalIn case you haven’t heard, the Circus McGurkus is in town! The world of Dr. Seuss is alive with The Plaza Arts Center and The Arts Barn’s presentation of Seussical, the musical event of the summer.

The Plaza presents Seussical the musicalSeussical, the musical event of the summer, opens next Thursday, July 6, at The Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton. The cast and crew for Seussical are participants in The Plaza’s and The Arts Barn’s collaborative effort of a Broadway Intensive.

Camp Broadway showcases talentSounds of lively music and clopping of shoes filled The Plaza Art Center June 11-15 as the participants of Camp Broadway learned their lines, dance moves and songs, preparing for the “big day” – a presentation of the performance to the audience on the last day.

Mocha House wraps up The Plaza and The Arts Barn collaborative Coffee House seriesFrom grandpas to elementary schoolers, everyone brought their talent to the stage at The Plaza Art Center and The Arts Barn’s Mocha House last week.

Mocha House concludes live local acts seriesThe final Mocha House fundraiser of the year, the largest of the Coffee House series, was presented late last month by The Plaza Arts Center and The Arts Barn. It featured 23 acts, 20 performers, and a packed house with performers of all ages represented, from actors as young as seven-years-old to high school students to grandparents. The money raised from the sale of coffee and other concessions went directly to funding The Plaza Arts Center’s and The Arts Barn’s Summer Broadway Intensive.

Lake Country Chorus presents: The Spirit of Christmas Through a Child’s EyesThe Lake Country Chorus is presenting The Spirit of Christmas Thru a Child’s Eyes at 7 p.m. Dec. 15, at the First United Methodist Church (4741 Carey Station Rd, Greensboro). The evening will feature favorite Christmas hymns and secular tunes along with dancing by the chorus members and students from The Arts Barn. The Christmas concert is directed by Donna Valvo and accompanied by Amy Reber along with a community orchestra.

‘Godspell’ at the Plaza is an experienceDear editor: Once more, the amazing theatrical talent that blooms here in the Briar Patch has presented a masterpiece production of the Broadway hit, Godspell. The acting, singing, dancing, live music, and set design are all professional quality.
